Useful analytics without tracking people
FindMe.Food measures how the service is used so we can improve restaurant coverage and make searches more useful. We intentionally avoid building profiles of individual visitors.

Why and on what basis we process data
We process the minimum data needed to provide searches, shared shortlists, anonymous votes, abuse prevention and community corrections. Service delivery is based on the service you request; security, aggregate analytics and data-quality improvement rely on our legitimate interests.
Searches and location
Exact coordinates and typed geocoder queries are used transiently to return nearby results. Geocoder queries may be cached for up to 30 days. Search analytics store time, broad filters, quality metrics and privacy-preserving H3 cells, never exact coordinates, searched addresses, IP addresses, dietary details or persistent identifiers. They are retained for 13 months and report searches, not people.
Sharing and voting
Coordinate-free shortlist snapshots contain restaurant names, public addresses, non-sensitive filters and, when requested, the final selected restaurant for 30 days. Anonymous votes and hashed, vote-specific ballot tokens are retained for 90 days. Public vote responses show aggregate results, never ballots, names, notes or token fields.
Security and community reports
One-way hashed network identifiers enforce rate limits and are removed when their window expires. Pending or rejected reports and reporter email addresses are retained for up to 13 months. Contact details on approved corrections are removed 30 days after moderation.
Providers and transfers
Vercel hosts the app and provides cookie-free Web Analytics; Neon hosts the database; Cloudflare Turnstile may protect reports; Geoapify handles automatic location suggestions; Nominatim may handle explicit fallback location searches; and OpenStreetMap tile servers receive map requests. Vercel derives a rotating daily request-based visitor hash for aggregated page measurement. Some providers may process data outside the EU/EEA under their published transfer safeguards.
Your rights
Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability, object to legitimate-interest processing, and complain to your data-protection authority. Because searches and votes are anonymous, we may not be able to identify a record without information you provide.
